Here are some images of my sketch book
I was playing with font and letters and incorporating Westwood's iconic style.
The next set of images are my work sheets, that helped me arrive at the final piece.
I brought in the union jack, tartan, safety pins, layering and targets - just like Westwood has used on her garments.
The peacock emerged out of thinking about overdressers.
The pecock feather detail above was made out of recycled fabric and a bundle of zips that I had lying around. It was this piece that inspired the garment.
The bundle of zips I had, happened to be a big bag full of them and so I used them to make a bodice. The bodice is size adjustable thanks to the placing of the zips and the directions in which they close. It can go from a size 14 to a 12. The skirt is made using stiff netting and a whole heap of safety pins.
So without further ado, I introduce 'Quote:Unquote' by Coral and modelled by my very, very special friend Lowri Mai Fairy (http://www.twinkleandgloom.com/)
